Chancellor Capital Management
Location: 1166 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY
The female President of this Capital Management corporation decided that the new executive offices for this minority owned financial organization should be designed by a design firm with strong ideas, a flexible temperament, who would be sensitive to different personalities.
These executive offices were located in the executive wing on the main floor of this newly built office space.
Each office was required to be specifically designed to reflect the personality of each individual. The President is a female leader with strength and courage, who heads the Human Relations Department. The CEO is an African-American man interested in displaying his cultural background and his strength in leadership. The Chairman is a stately gentleman with a more traditional attitude and methodology towards business.
The choice of furniture and finishes helps express the extreme differences in personalities. The President expresses her feminine touch with a plush Donghia soft seating area which allows her to utilize her interpersonal skills at an equally seated round desk/meeting table or the sofa area. The CEO's furniture has sharp corners to express his strong and pro-active personality. The Chairman's furniture is more stately and was chosen to reflect his experience and the stability of the company's financial status.
Wood, fabric, finishes, carpet and wallcovering choices were all selected to highlight the individual personalities, but were also carefully chosen so that all offices coordinated with the main office scheme.
