Elliott Management Corporation, a leading international hedge fund headquartered in New York City, commissioned our firm to design and manage the build out of their disaster recovery offices and data operations center. Our firm was the project leader of a team of consultants, including civil, structural, mechanical, security, telecommunications and audiovisual engineers.

After establishing a program of requirements with a 10 year growth plan, several New Jersey corporate office park locations were studied. The results of these studies were used to confirm the suitability of potential sites, including demographics, architectural, structural and mechanical conditions. It was critical that the site conditions permit connectivity by a fiber optic pathway to their New York City headquarters, and could accommodate dedicated generator and backup UPS systems.

The design was purposely established to mimic the NYC office so it would be familiar to the staff in the event of occupancy. As a central data center for their worldwide locations, mission critical redundancy was built into the mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications infrastructure.

The function of the facility and the mechanical infrastructure dictated the project's priority. Costs were carefully used in the exposed key areas for aesthetic upgrades. Sophisticated lighting and acoustical treatments were integrated in the boardroom design for optimum audiovisual conferencing conditions.

The soothing furniture and finish color palette with light woods and beige tones is similar to the NYC office design, emphasizing calm, warmth, and confidence.
