Nursery & Child Daycare,
The Rosie O'Donnell Show
Location: 30 Rockefeller Center, New York, NY
Area: 300 sq. ft.
Rosie O'Donnell and the executives at The Rosie O'Donnell Show wanted a safe and nearby place for a nursery and daycare for their children. For parents working long hours at the show, this concept is supportive to continue their entertainment careers while in close proximity to their children. Located adjacent to the studio, the facility is also open to the children of guests during studio taping sessions.
This nursery daycare center is located within The Rosie O'Donnell Show offices at Rockefeller Center in New York City. It is centrally located within the office space making it easily accessible to the parents.
The requirements of the program included an occupancy of two teachers and six children. A bathroom and kitchen are located within the nursery to make the daycare self-sufficient. A quiet room with three cribs are located within the caretaker's view.
The design elements are scaled for children's proportions. The design of the rooms are spunky, fun and stimulating. Colors, textures and furniture are placed to encourage learning. The children are free to experience the different play and learning areas of the rooms.
Colorful Warner Brothers designed wallcoverings surround the rooms to stimulate the children's imaginations. Carpet with double padding was installed for a soft play space. Children's furniture, educational toys, games and a television are scattered throughout the rooms for variety and to promote interaction.
