Paradysz Matera
Location: 5 Hanover Square, New York, NY
Area: 30,400 sq. ft.
Paradysz Matera is a media services company. Their new office location and design was necessary to consolidate departments, and improve efficency and work flow.
After programming their needs with a 10 year growth plan, test fit studies were completed for several potential sites. These studies and our participation in the lease negotiations were instrumental in the final selection of this location, comprised of two contiguous floors.
The company's young and energetic staff requested a creative environment to inspire employees and clients alike during their working, meeting and brainstorming sessions. The floor plan encourages teams to meet and work together at central meeting tables or at meeting pods throughout the space. Workstations are low within the work groups and high between different departments. The new stair design and location creates a logical traffic flow between floors, and is a congregating location among the staff.
The design concept of the perimeter open areas includes a continuous display band with borderless frames of client magazine covers. Colorful fabric insert panels are randomly placed between frames to identify the different departments. The elevator lobby was designed as an art gallery with lit shadow boxes for flexible changing displays. Clean creative lighting solutions throughout the entire office adds sparkle and drama especially in the circulation and public areas.
The suddent impact of persimmon compliments the company's purple/white trademark colors, and creates an initial "WOW" factor reflecting the company's attitude and mission to stand out of the crowd.
