Republic National Bank

Location: 1185 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY
Area: 8,000 sq. ft.

This branch bank is one of several locations designed by our firm for Republic National Bank. This branch required the addition of an ATM Vestibule and a complete redesign of the facility for current banking standards.

The bank is located at the northwest corner of 6th Avenue and 46th Street in New York City. The main branch has its Tellers and Customer Service Representatives at ground level, and its Offices and Safe Deposit Area on the lower level.

The construction was scheduled to be phased in order to keep all banking functions continuously operational. Safety and security were a constant consideration during and after banking hours throughout construction.

The design intention for the bank was to transform a very busy and congested midtown Manhattan branch into a service center with a planned traffic flow. The new layout accomplished this by separating the functions and creating an orderly flow of customer traffic. The new design increased customer satisfaction and allowed for faster customer service. ADA design compliance was incorporated at the ATM machines, Teller and Customer Service Areas.

The selection of furniture and finishes for this bank and others that we designed, were intentionally chosen to look timeless and match the economic demographic of the community. Here, new slate tile floors, white carrara marble, cherry wood, ceiling and lighting elements were selected to reflect the local midtown Manhattan business attitude. Metal halide light fixtures were selected to illuminate from the twenty foot high ceiling.
